Job Description
The ideal candidate will have previous hands-on experience managing search engine optimisation (SEO) and search engine marketing (SEM) activities. From day one, the Digital Marketing Specialist will be responsible for managing all SEO activities such as content strategy, link building and keyword strategy to increase rankings on all major search networks. The Digital Marketing Specialist will also manage all global SEM/PPC, display and retargeting campaigns on Google, Bing and Yahoo in order to maximise ROI.
Key Responsibilities:
SEM:
● Manage and optimise ongoing PPC search, display and remarketing advertising campaigns for core areas of focus at the brand, service, feature and competitor levels.
● Responsible for the creation, editing, management, organisation and optimisation of multiple campaigns within the US, South Africa, Australia, the United Kingdom and 12 targeted countries across the European Union.
● Provide clear direction to the creative team regarding display and retargeting ad design.
● Optimise landing pages for maximum conversions and implement remarketing strategies.
● Review landing page conversion rates and collaborate with internal teams to update/create landing pages and optimise the user experience.
● Plan, execute and measure A/B testing and conversion tests.
● Analyse and report on changes in search-related growth, constantly optimising paid and organic search marketing campaigns based on data.
● Identify trends and insights, and optimise spend and performance based on the insights
● Increase CTR and lower CPL with compelling ad copy creation and/or enhancements
● Management of ad expenditures with daily reporting, performance analysis, and bid optimisation techniques.
● Finding new avenues for digital marketing opportunities and increased lead generation
SEO:
● Assist in the ongoing creation, editing, management, organisation and optimisation of web content.
● Collaborate with internal teams to assist in SEO strategy for web development and content projects
● Work with the creative and development teams to implement SEO and UX best practises
● Conduct on-page SEO across all digital properties to ensure pages are ranking for target keywords.
● Analyse competitor SEO status and strategize opportunities for improvement for the domain/brand.
● Implement information architecture best practises when building future site areas and re-architecting existing web pages and landing pages as needed.
● Conduct keyword analysis to determine which keywords are primary and secondary targets for ranking across web areas.
● Report on keyword rankings across key areas and optimise content to enhance presence in search engine results.
● Constantly perform keyword research and present opportunities for new digital content creation.
● Review and optimise existing content following modern SEO best practises.
● Mine for online mentions using Google Alerts and coordinate proper coverage with the social media team.
Candidate requirements :
● BA/BS or equivalent working experience
● Expert level skills:
○ 5 years of proven global SEM experience managing PPC paid search, display and retargeting campaigns across Google, Bing and Yahoo
○ 3 to 5 years of proven SEO experience with examples of page one ranking results
● Proficiency in Google Ads, Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Google Webmaster and General website maintenance
● Google Ads Certified
● Google Analytics Certified
● Solid understanding of performance marketing, conversion and online customer acquisition
● Knowledge of ranking factors and search engine algorithms
● Experience with A/B and multivariate experiments
● Highly skilled at writing ad copy
● Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Major Bonus Points:
● Previous agency experience preferred
● SEO-level knowledge of HTML/CSS
● Comfortable in a fast-paced environment
