Job Description

The Head of Division is responsible to position Vox a leader in software as a service solutions. The product offering needs to cover corporate / consumer markets and must be positioned as a stand-alone solution or bundled with any of the other product offerings.

 

The existing security portfolio must be extended (not limited) to the cover the following areas.

·         Email

·         Fax

·         IOT

 

The primary responsibility is to define, implement and manage product strategies that will achieve defined revenue and GP targets.

 

Detailed responsibilities

1.        Product Strategy

§  Define and manage assigned portfolio product strategy

·      Define and implement revenue growth measures

¾         Target markets, segments & customers

¾         New products/services

¾         Existing market penetration

¾         New markets etc.

·      Ensure product attributes remain relevant to market requirements

·      Regular market and competitor analyses

·      Manage product pricing

·      Product bundling

§  Market research

·      Understand customer needs and the competitive landscape.

·      Attend conferences and other industry forums to remain abreast of key industry trends

·      Interact regularly with customers to understand their experiences and product wish lists

§  New product development

·      In conjunction with internal departments, manage the development of new products and the roll out internally.

·      Develop business cases.

·      Write Product Requirements Documents that will lead to competitive advantage in our markets.

·      Work with technical, operations, installations and support organizations during the development lifecycle to refine requirements and negotiate trade-offs.

·      Manage interactions with multiple cross-functional teams to deliver complete products.

 

2.        Manage supplier relationships:

·      Partner Status and discounts

·      New Products and Product Enhancements

·      Product Changes

·      Pricing Changes

·      Support Changes

 

3.       Sales strategy

·         In conjunction with sales, define and manage the product sales strategy

·      Direct sales

·      Account managers

·      Channel Partners

·      Online

·      Training and development of all teams

·       In conjunction with marketing, define and implement product specific marketing plans:

·      Internal, customer and external marketing planning and activities

·      Campaign management

·      Accountability for product collateral

4.        Revenue Assurance

·       Revenue and margin management in line with budgets

·       Track conversion from Sales to WIP to Installation and billing

 

5.        Product Process Implementation

·      Pre- Sales,

·      Quote assistance,

·      Support queries

·      Commission/GP/discount queries

·      Tenders

·       Conduct regular meetings with sales teams to understand:

·      Product specific sales pipelines in order to predict product revenue and margins

·      Sales and customer experiences of existing products

·      Customer and market specific requirements

 

6.        Product Operations

·       Systems

·      Accountability for accurate system information and pricing

·      Ensuring product codes are 100% accurate on all systems

·       Service strategy

·      In conjunction with the Service Centre, implement product specific service strategies and monthly reporting to measure customer experience

·       Ensure Product Managers Positions are filled

·       Implementation of Key Performance Areas

·       Development and training of product managers

Qualification and Experience

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 Senior certificate (Matric)

·         Tertiary qualification (B.com preferable or B.Sc. in telecommunications or computer science)

  • Extensive knowledge and experience in the telecommunications industry, ideally with a telecoms service provider / operator.
  • Accredited Security Qualifications (CISSP, CISM, ISO27001 desirable)

·         10 years’ experience in sales 

·         10 years’ experience in product management

·         5 Years’ experience in marketing

·         Exceptional computer proficiency (specifically MS Office, Excel, Email Outlook and Internet)

·         Solid understanding of security solutions and architectures meeting the requirements for a range of market sectors.
